Description
This is my most treasured image for a couple of reasons. I took this shot after slipping in the bush at the Valley of the Waters and tearing my meniscus in my left knee. I was in so much pain as I took this shot, but It was so stunning a sight that I couldn’t not capture it. Then I had to ascend the 850 or so stair climb out of the valley whilst my leg kept giving way underneath me. What I considered at the time “the worst day of my life” turned into something far greater when this shot was awarded an International Silver award in the Better Digital Camera competition, judged by acclaimed photographer Peter Eastway. Also a bronze award winner in the 2012 International Loupe awards. You can read all about that days events in my blog post “Diary of a Wimpy Photographer“. Limited edition of 500.
